Spirituality: Easy Steps for a Happier Life

Do you remember who you were before the world told you who you should be?

What is Spirituality vs Religion?

I never thought I’d see so many people looking for ways to connect with something beyond material things at this capacity. Lately, spirituality has been a hot topic. Evidently, more and more people are looking for new ways to find peace and feel connected with their authentic self, and the world around them. Spirituality differs from secular religions in that spirituality encourages you to find your truth, and express it fully. Religions, on the other hand, come with a set of rules to abide by. Neither is better than the other, they are just different. Ultimately, you should experiment and see what feels good to you.

What is spirituality about?

Spirituality is about finding personal peace and meaning in life. It’s about remembering what you really are and then deciding who you want to be. Spirituality is not tied to any one religion but instead focuses on personal experiences. Some people practice things like meditation, yoga, or mindfulness to feel closer to themselves and the world around them. These experiences and practices help you peel away the layers that no longer resonate, and in some cases that were never true to who you really are.

While many people still follow their religion, others are combining different spiritual practices to create their own paths. Self-discovery can be fun and exciting, but make no mistakes about it, they can also be heavy and tumultuous. It’s all about exploring what makes you feel alive and connected to the world in your own unique way. There are levels to the journey, and those who endure it usually discover that in the end the real magick was what happened along the way to your destination. I guess you could say that spirituality is a journey into yourself via one moment at a time.

In the meantime, I’m going to share some tips to help you on your journey.

Three Simple Steps to Start Living a More Spiritual Life

1. Practice Mindfulness Every Day

Take 5 to 10 minutes each day to practice mindfulness. This could be deep breathing, meditating, or just sitting quietly and focusing on the present moment. Doing this regularly helps you feel calm and more aware of your feelings and thoughts. It can also help you feel more connected to yourself. As your practice grows you might start to notice other abilities growing with you. Some might call them psychic abilities, when really all it is are the parts of you that were ignored and dormant and as you do more work they begin to re-aweken. I’m currently working on putting together videos that will help you walk through these kinds of processes step-by-step.

2. Do Something Kind for Yourself, and Then for Others

Being kind to yourself is a big part of spirituality. We go most of our lives being told share, make sure to help so and so, save some for your sibling, etc. It is rare to hear words like “how are you feeling?” and “do what feels right to you”. Often times when we do we are called selfish and inconsiderate, but when you’re on your journey you should put you first. If you don’t know who and what you are nothing else matters. It is only after you have a grasp on your true wishes and desires that we can move on to helping others. Never give from your cup. Give from your overflow, lest you end up empty. Helping from a surplus hits different, and don’t let anyone give you a guilt trip about it. You are your greatest project. The best version of you can do wonders in the world!

3. Spend Time Outside in Nature

Nature is a great way to feel more connected to the world. Whether it’s taking a walk in the park, playing outside, or just sitting under a tree, nature has a calming effect. Spending time outdoors can help you relax, think clearly, and feel at peace. Do you know why? Well, there are many logical reasons. The new setting takes your mind off your day to day life. Where there is more plant life and trees there is more oxygen. If there is a body of water nearby its soothing sound calms the nervous system. Even just seeing more blue and green around does something to your very soul, but what isn’t common knowledge is that nature is radiating love frequency your way. I have a wild story about this that will be on my social media – most likely youtube. Do follow and stay connected, I’ll be sharing these stories very soon. I might add that while you’re out there, to thank all things seen and unseen for growing so beautifully and abundantly. You’d be surprised what’s listening.

Conclusion

Spirituality is all about rediscovering the real you, finding inner peace, growing as a person, and feeling contributing to the world by becoming your best self. No matter what path you follow, these simple steps can help you feel happier and more connected to yourself and the world around you.
